Diagnostics

Engine diagnostics

A warning light or a strange noise can have dozens of causes. A diagnostic check reads the car's computer, tests the suspect parts and finds what is actually wrong before anything is replaced.

Step by step

How we do it

Engine diagnostics, step by step: from the warning light to handing the keys back
  1. Warning light

A warning light comes on, or the car just doesn't feel right.

  2. Plug in

A scan tool plugs into the diagnostic port under the dash.

  3. Read the codes

The stored trouble codes are read. A code points to a system, not yet to the exact part.

  4. Live data

With the engine running, live sensor readings show what the system is actually doing.

  5. Pinpoint

The suspect part is tested directly, for example with a meter, to confirm the cause.

  6. The findings

You get a plain explanation of what was found and what it needs before any repair.

  7. Back to you

The keys go back to you.
